A new month is almost here… and a new list from the Realtor.com® just came out today! This week’s Monday Market Update features the top 11 cities desired by families given the unique circumstances resulting from the pandemic. Remote work and continued low rates have opened up opportunities for many homeowners that result in rewarding lifestyles at last.
Realtor.com® declares that “… since the start of the pandemic, Americans have been moving farther and farther away from major metros, in part for more space and in part for more affordable housing options.” According to Jung Choiu, A Senior Research Associate at the Urban Institute, “... a lot of millennials have decided to become homeowners during the pandemic. Many of these millennials, especially highly educated ones with jobs that allow remote work, are increasingly buying homes in the suburbs.”
The graphic below summarizes the top family-friendly suburbs of 2021; we encourage you to read the article

here as well.
Did you notice that two California cities made the cut? El Monte resides at #2 with a median home price of $599,000, as a bedroom community located just outside Los Angeles. With smaller and more affordable homes, two museums, an aquatic center and the Emily Ishigaki Children’s Day Parade in October… it’s no wonder El Monte is a rising contender.
Did you also see that Walnut Creek came in at #11? With a median home price of $699,960 plus good schools, 16 parks and quick access to San Francisco – Walnut Creek is an oft-forgotten hidden hub that balances the best of both suburban style and city adventures.
Have a great week!
