Monday Market Update: Top Paint Picks For 2025

Our annual blog featuring next year’s colors of the year is here!

Rich. Deep. Saturated. These are the defining features of many of the paint colors of 2025 that industry designers have released so far. With no gray or white in sight, the new year looks to be setting us up for warmth, depth and maybe even a little bit of...drama!

If you follow our blog, then you know that every fall the home design and paint companies release their personal picks for the 2025 Color of the Year. Quite often there is diversity in what each voice considers to be important, and each tone is uniquely individual. The 2025 colors have more in common than we have seen in years past, with Better Homes & Gardens categorizing them as mostly jewel-toned or deep and saturated. We encourage you to see the colors in rooms on walls in the article ‘Every 2025 Color of the Year That's Been Announced So Far.

For a quick overview, we have listed the brand, color and mini description below.

1. C2 Paint | Raku | An earthy, deep brownish-red inspired by the type of pottery used in ancient Japanese tea ceremonies. Intention is balance, comfort and timeless elegance.

2. Dutch Boy | Mapped Blue | A medium blue-gray hue that is made to pair with warm and cool color palettes. With moderate saturation, the color can be used all over or as an accent wall – making it versatile in both classic and contemporary interiors.

3. Minwax | Violet | Chosen to blend with traditional wood tones and modern design trends, this purple is in the blue color family but with distinct red undertones. Best defined as having depth, character and a manageable boldness.

4. Valspar | Encore | This sophisticated jewel tone is described by makers as ‘atmospheric’ while appearing both ‘familiar and unexpected’ at the same time. Valspar color trend experts insist this carefully chosen hue will blend seamlessly with Old World designs as well as modern styles.

5. BEHR | Rumors | This warmer neutral is a rich red shade with brown undertones, ideal for an accent wall or dramatic formal space (such as a dining room). Coined as transformative and creative, this color can be utilized on a large or small scale.

6. HGTV Home By Sherwin Williams | Quietude | This is perhaps the lightest entry among the 2025 Colors of the Year, evoking tones of peace and tranquility. Quietude is described as a soft, natural green with a cool, complex blue-gray undertone.

7. Stainmaster | Truffle | This is the color that makes you say brown is back… in a good way. A moody, bold and sophisticated neutral – Truffle can fit into a room emboldened by modern minimalism or rustic chic.

8. Little Greene | Mochi | Deliberately designed as a warm alternative to beige or gray, this color is best described as a light brown with peachy-pink undertone. Little Greene’s creative director defines Mochi as poised to deliver ‘cocooning, restful and charming spaces.’

Which hue brings out the best in you? There is certainly a vibrancy, depth and versatility that bands these colors together… but each are unique in their own way. I could also see these tones as emerging in area rugs, throw pillows and other pops of color inside your home – and even out!

Stay tuned for more 2025 design trends in the weeks and months ahead!

Warm regards,
