Senior Spotlight: Fitness & Exercise Resources

New year, new fitness goals? Top tips for those age 50+.

A new year often means new fitness goals, at any age! It is truly never the wrong time to get in better shape, improve your health and start moving (unless your doctor or medical team has given any restrictions). But there is no ‘one size fits all’ health solution for anyone, and those over age 50 may have additional considerations for exercise routines, gym memberships and frequency. Couple that with the fact that many older adults are still in the workforce, it's true that finding the time and energy can be a hurdle.

Our Senior Spotlight researchers have reviewed many online sources and listed the top 5 for adults aged 50+. Please note there are MANY more, and the very best place to start when creating a fitness plan is with your doctor. Be sure to ask your healthcare provider if weight loss, balance, weight bearing exercise, flexibility or strength is your top priority – and work from there!

You don’t have to have it all figured out to take a step in the right direction – how about going for a walk before the day ends?!

Cheers to being the healthiest we can be,
