The only thing more important than home – is how you feel in it.
Home buying and/or selling is an experience. The process can be stressful, exciting, unpredictable, challenging, thrilling and all of the above, all at the same time! There is noting more personal than home, which is why real estate is such a personal business. A transaction is less about money and more about someone’s lifestyle and physical and financial comfort. That is why in this week’s Designations Create Distinctions blog, we wanted to share with you a great read from Marketo on happy customers.
Real estate is no doubt a numbers business. How many homes have you sold this quarter? How many days on market was your last listing? How much over-asking are houses selling for in a certain neighborhood? How many social media avenues do you maintain? How much do you spend marketing listings? But in all of this, the article ‘Customer Happiness | 4 Tips to Measure What Truly Matters’ reminds us that what you do matters much less than how it makes someone feel.
Here are 4 tips from Marketo that we believe can benefit any consumer, in any industry. We encourage you to add a client happiness component to your 2022 business planning in some way – and would love to hear how you do it! 😉
#1: Stop measuring the wrong things. (If you are not measuring anything, now is the time to start!)
#2: Engagement is about more than numbers. Think about the quality of the comments and replies you receive, not the number!
#3: Just ask what they’re thinking. Find out what your clients like about the process of buying and/or selling a home… and then do something about it (see #4!).
#4: When things go wrong, fix them. It would be unrealistic for everything to go smooth in a real estate transaction. Problem solving is actually a great chance to shine: show off those negotiating powers, work those hard-earned relationships, implement creative solutions. You got this.
